Goals and objectives
Propaganda of healthy life-style. Popularization and development of adventure races as sport in Russia. Involving of the population in regular sport in natural conditions. Introduction of the racers and representatives of mass media with the unique nature of the North-West region of the Russian Federation.

Date and place
Red Fox Adventure Race 2012 takes place in Karelia - Loukhsky District on June 10 - 12, 2012.

Race format
Race format - expedition. Non-stop adventure race. Race dead-line: 60 hours.  Expected finish time of the leaders: 36 hours. Each racer has to reach the age of 18 by the time of race. Race takes place in 2 classes. Teams in each class: team of 4, at least one woman and team of 2 (any gender). There are individual men's, women's and mixed ratings  for teams of 2.

Racers should overcome the distance according to the fixed sequence of stages:
1.  mountain bike
2. speleo stage
3. rafting
4. trekking
5. coastering
6. sea paddling
7. fixed ropes

Equipment

The list of mandatory and personal equipment will be publish in special information appendix. 

Maps

Teams receive the maps, based on topographic maps of district in original scale 1:50 000 (1 cm - 500 m).

Check points
Check points are equipped with prism with race logo and station of electronic mark SFR. Electronic chips will be fixed on wrist of each participant and sealed.

Check points are tied up to the well-defined orienting points and can be distinguished from 10-m distance (if the legend doesn't indicate anything else).
Sample of check point will be set on start.

Cut-offs points
Race rules do not suppose any cut-offs during the race.

Transition areas
Transition area of the race base camp is placed on start glade. Here the participants should leave their equipment in special designated areas. Also there are transition areas between mountain bike stage -> rafting stage and rafting stage -> trekking stage -> sea paddling stage.

Organizers are free from any responsibility for team's equipment, left outside the transition areas.

Safety
The safety during the race is realized by the officers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Each team HAS TO have a turned-off charged mobile phone for reaching the panel of judges in case of emergency. The telephone number for safety communication with organizers will be pointed in the legend.

Requirements for team and competitors:

• Organizers are free from any material, civil or criminal responsibility in case of bodily or material injury, occurred during the race.
• Competitors realize that the race distance is potentially unsafe in technical, natural and climatic sense.
• Team, dropped out of the race, should connect with organizers in short term, come back to finish and return the chips.

Applications
On-line registration on website www.adventure-race.redfox.ru.  The official registration - up to 31th May, 2012.

The entrance fee is 1000 rubles for each participant regardless of team's members and race class. You should pay the entrance fee during the registration on 9^th June at start place.

 

Environmental rules
Organizers reserve to themselves the right to disqualify the teams, careless acted toward nature. It's necessary to take all trash to waste-bins in settlements.

Sport ethics
It's determined by the rules that teams should look with favor on other teams. In case of critical situation, the teams should help each other, irrespective of the race results. Human mutual aid is appreciated higher than sport results.

Spectators
The race rules allow only moral support of teams. Team can be disqualified for the assistance.

Sponsor recognition
During the race all participants should be dressed in the sleeveless sports shirts with numbers, received from organizers. The shirts with numbers should be always over the other clothes.

Determination of the winners
The winners are determined under the least time on the route of all distance on conditions that team have all marks on check points. The teams overpassed only part of distance will be pointed by special mark in finish protocol and be ranked according to the covered part of distance without missing of check points.

Disqualification
Team can be disqualified for the following:

• Using of outside assistance and transport
  
• Rough breach of the race rules and accident prevention

• Breaking down of sport ethics (failure to render assistance by injured person or preventing other teams to reach the finish - check point removal and etc.)

• Breaking down of environmental ethics

The chief judge settles all questions about the race results and separate moot points. In case of disagreement with the chief judge's decision, sportsmen can address to the appeal jury of the organization committee.

Awards
In each class it will be awarded the teams, which take 1-3 places. They receive medals and prizes from the race organizers and sponsors.
